One of our readers sent us this:
Wayne Spires, KF4BJT, has climbed his 56 foot tower in protest of his homeowner’s association. I heard him interviewed on the Rick and Bubba morning show. Bill “Bubba” Bussey is a ham radio radio operator, KJ4JJ, so he is sympathetic to Wayne’s Plight. Wayne, however, appears to be a QRZ.com worth NUTJOB. He kept rambling on, about how he bought the house free and clear in 1995 and now the homoeowner’s association has attached a $1500 lien against his property. The association was apparently not formed until 2000, or so. Interesting story, though.
GO WAYNE!!!!
FUCK HOA’s!! Its his land and he can do with it whatever he damn well pleases!!
Damn straight!!
Especially if there was no homeowner’s association in existence when he bought the property.
Since his house was there before the HOA he is grandfathered and they can’t touch him
VIDEO.
He’s either in a trailer or surrounded by trailers. What kind of homeowners association worries about THIS kind of neighborhood?
Good for him.
Is that a pissbag attached to the chair? God damn hams and their pissbags!
That man is great, God love him for his rights!
there is a trailer park here in town that after starting under new management, decided to start a no antenna policy, well let me rephrase that, a no visible antenna policy.
One guy (CBer) was grandfathered and had a tower up, and an Antron-99 at the top of the tower.
another guy, a young CBer who is legally blind, wanted to put up a small antenna for 11m, we placed it on a stand INSIDE his little tool/strage shed. It was within the rules of the park, it was not visible. The neighbors bitched when they saw us put it in there and the management made him remove it.
Mikey (new newbie) is a really nice guy. Anyway this kinda upset a lot of the locals that he liked to talk to, so we spent a weekend “visiting” Mike, the CBers would park in front of his trailer and fire up their radios (they a little more than legal power wink wink nudge nudge) and he would come out and talk on the radios.
After a weekend of that, and the management not being abole to do anything about it as we were guests, they decided it would be in their best interest to allow him to put up his antenna in the shed after all, as it did meet the rules of not being visible
The HOA needs to go piss up a rope.
5 days, 7 hours, 11 min is how long he has been up

Weather
We had some bad weather come thru this morning. It was raining and lightning. We tried to talk him into coming down. But he said that the Lord would protect him. The weather passed and he’s ok.
