We 18 of us got together at BD’s Mongolian Barbeque and had a great time. If you missed it, you missed out.
What else can I say?

No O’douls?
MMM HTs and cheap Mexican beer. I wish I could have been there.

Alot of Astro’s at that party.
“That’s how we roll, baby…”
Fun was had by all though. Just something about the mixture of a whacker car, a bunch of astro geeks, a dry chem fire extinguisher and charging for parking to buy beer that makes a party go well.
What I want to know is where are you getting the XTS handhelds? (Not to mention how much are you paying for them?) If they are issued to you by an agency however, that’s cheating. 🙂
Nope all personally owned.
That’s just how we roll api…
I have an XTS and a Digital Saber… They aren’t that expensive…
Figure a Kenwood TM-D700 will cost you around $520, add about $300 to that for a decent XTS3000 that will last you forever.
Digital Sabers are far cheaper… I picked one up on eBay for $279
I guess I need to get with the program, since I’ve only got MTS2000s (VHF and UHF.) Then again, I don’t have the money for a D-700 right now either.
API = poor college student 🙂
It will last you forever, you say? We all know that’s hamspeak for “until the next new toy comes along.”
It’s geek-speak for “until the next toy comes along”.
Looks like lots of fun.. maybe next time…..

two things happened here that are briefly mentioned above… but haven’t been elaborated upon…
the dry chem. ahem. was “expended” putting out a fellow hamsexy member’s car… too bad it wasn’t on fire.
parking was across the street… and clearly labelled “FREE AFTER 5PM” or something…. well, during the dry chem experiment, it started to rain, so here I am standing at the entrance to the parking lot with my XTS… and a car pulls up and rolls down the window…
cutie sez “how much to park”… I tell her “$5″… she says… “got change for a $20?”… “NOPE”, i reply… so she digs out a $5 from the depths of her purse…
she drives into the lot, I walk across the street and buy another beer… net cost.. ZERO.
I love DC
