Sorry for the no-show guys…. I just moved into my permanent digs here, and I didn’t get internet until this evening.. Sorry about that…
It’s ok Bryan… I got your back… reluctantly, but I got it.
For the record I am saddened by the loss of nets which require antennas.
I don’t think we should give up with the HF net. 20 meters is getting better, and there is 17 and 15 when they start to open in the near future.
I am improving my station. When I get to the point where I can be heard by dipoles strung nationwide I would be happy to do net control for an airwave net.
The Echolink/IRLP is awesome by any standards, but kicking HF to the curb is NOT Hamsexy at all.
Two Hamsexy nets are better than one. Synergy, I always say…plus, we ARE masters of the airwaves, are we not?
Winnipeg is in Manitoba 🙂
Hopefully I’ll have time to check in again this week. That was fun. I took like 3 months off from the hamsexy net. Busy hours…
Mark:
No one is kicking the HF net to the curb, it was scrapped due to lack of interest. There’s no point in Scott sitting there every weekend talking into thin air if no one is going to bother talking to him.
It’s easy to complain about something, but it’s always better to do something constructive about it, is it not?
If you want to see the HF net survive, then work with Scott to make sure it doesn’t. Tossing around non-sequitors like “Masters of the Airwaves” doesn’t do anything to garner any interest.
