Hamsexy Net tonight

The always fun, never dull Hamsexy Net goes live again tonight. As always, all amateurs are welcome to participate. We still have yet to get a check-in from outside of North America – maybe tonight will be the night, no?

There are two ways to participate in the net, providied you aren’t standing in the same room as me during the net:

IRLP: Node 9008
Echolink: *VAN-IRLP* (remember the asterisks!!)

As well, for those who might not have access to a radio, don’t feel like checking in or aren’t amateurs, a live stream of the net is available at http://ve3nsv.no-ip.org:8000/hamsexy.m3u

The net goes live at 9pm Eastern/6pm Pacific/1am GMT

I’m sorry that the site hasn’t been updated in a while – I spent the weekend and past few days hanging with a buddy across the border in Rochester, NY. As anyone who knows me knows, I’ll take any excuse to go on a nice long ride on my motorcycle. THis is the last time I’ll be seeing him (or the USA) before I go to Taiwan, so a manditory fun time was had by all. If you’re ever in the area, be sure to check out Dinosaur BBQ in downtown Rochester…. probably some of the best BBQ ribs north of the Mason-Dixon. They cook that shit for like 14 hours, so you can never go wrong. It’s replaced Cheeseburger Cheeseburger (at the Ferry docks) as my favourite place to stuff my face in upstate New York.

Anyhow, as some of you might know, I’ll be moving to Taiwan in a few weeks, so obviously I won’t be around to be net control for the Hamsexy Net when I’m gone (12 hour time difference between Eastern Time Zone and Taiwan). I am looking for about two or three people to take on the task of Net Control while I am gone. Rather than just giving the net to one person, I’m going to be rotating a few people through the responsibility, that way it gives us some flexibility in case someone is unavailable to take the net. If you are interested, please e-mail me at net@hamsexy.com and let us know. Please outline any experience you have running nets, and what you can contribute. Please note that you MUST have reliable access to an IRLP node in order to be a net controller. Net control cannot be done from Echolink – IRLP only. Please provide any ideas or innovations that you could bring to the net – it will all be taken into consideration.
