Thanks to long-time friend of the site Kit N1MCC for submitting these photos on the Hamsexy Forums of quite possibly the best looking and most useless ham radio ‘command’ vehicle ever to grace these fine pages.
This truck (which, shockingly enough, is a POV), looks nice and has a nice setup, but is very ill-equipped to be any sort of useful mobile command vehicle.
The reasons are pretty obvious, but we’ll let you mull them over in the comments thread.
As always, click on the photos to make ’em bigger!
Friend of the site Conundrum sent us these photos from the 2007 Durham Hamfest east of Toronto in Canada.
He stumbled across this beast of a truck – who’s external beastliness is nothing compared to the gold that lies within. Apparantly this truck is also a member of the infamous “Don Valley REACT” team we enjoy lampooning so much on this site.
Enjoy!!
The beast’s ass…. a late 80’s Suburban, maybe? Anyone want to guess how much it costs to fill this animal with fuel?
The lightbar and antenna. No whackermobile is complete without them.
…and this is where it gets creepy. Freelance paramedic, at your service. Complete with blue star crests on muliple reflective jackets. And, of course, no wannabee ambulance is complete without the jerry can sitting next to the go kit.
Conundrum sent us a lot of stuff… so stay tuned while I milk this cow for every last drop Thanks again!!
The last net for the month of May. . .and it was a good ‘un! Urns high praise, as they like to say. No topic, just a general check-in net.

This photo was emailed to me today by a friend of the site.
I think it sums up Dayton PERFECTLY.
Click on the image for a “larger” size… hell, in this case, it’s XXXXXL.
I’ll post more of my own photos later on tonight… enjoy!
Dayton Hamvention 2007… Another year has passed and the Hamsexy strike team had yet again descended on the unwashed masses and spread joy and cheer for all to enjoy.
As with all trends the group keeps getting larger and larger every year. So I suppose that would equate us to something in the flesh eating disease category. We spread un mercilessly and take over to infect others. All in all though, when you speak to most members everybody had a great time. There are moments that stick out in my mind that certainly have proven that we can top ourselves each year. Once again we had attended dinner at the Lonestar Steakhouse on Miller Ln, so we would like to thank them for being such good sports to some of our stickering and other antics, and thank them for the gratious acceptance of our request to sing “Happy Birthday” to our very own, Mike Oxlong. Happy Birthday Mike!! Below are some thumbnails of photos submitted so far, and links to a couple of the current running threads on our forums for the “after party” of Hamvention. See y’all next year!! |

The topic was why you aren’t going to Hamvention and the best answer goes to Robert, VE6PWT who is reshingling a roof at his cabin.
The WORST answer goes to my protege, John KB3AWQ who is driving a carload of WACKERS to the Pennsylvania Fire Expo . Again I say, WACKER WACKER WACKER.
To you who can’t come, sorry, hope to see you there soon, and those who are…
WOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah, there was an emergency alert during the net, click here to hear it !
